EAN 13

The international numeric code used in wholesale and retail to mark products, as well as to number books under the ISSN and ISBN systems. Zoner Barcode Studio 2 also supports the expanded version of the EAN 13 code ("add-on code") used primarily in marking periodicals in the ISSN system.

Because a periodical already has a unique number to identify it, the ISSN, the EAN bar code for a periodical (a magazine or newspaper) is generated from the ISSN for the periodical..

EAN ISBN (Bookland)

The barcode symbols that appear on the back of books are known as Bookland EAN bar code symbols. An ISBN (International Standard Book Number) or BookLand bar code is an EAN-13 symbol consisting of the first 9 digits of the ISBN number preceded by the digits 978.

Code 93

Code 93 was developed as an enhancement to the Code 39 symbology by providing a higher character density than Code 39.
