Overly sharp images can feel "hard," and you may wish to carefully "soften" them via light blurring of the image. Blurring can also be used to give an artificial sense of depth to a picture, or to simulate motion blurring of surroundings.
The Blur filter in Zoner Photo Studio contains six types of blurring: Fine, Gaussian, Overall, Directional, Rotational, and Zoom. For Directional blurring, you can set a direction; for Rotational and Zoom, there is the Center for the blurring (you can also set the center directly using an eyedropper). Blurring lies on the border between edits and effects.
