A frequent problem in digital photography is the loss of sharpness. It is especially frequent while shrinking photos, or scanning them in. Zoner Photo Studio offers four ways to sharpen photos:
- Simple sharpening is a universally applicable method that sharpens all the details in the image.
- Unsharp mask is a method derived from traditional film technology, developed specially for photo sharpening, because it emphasizes only the meaningful borders in a picture.
- Gaussian sharpening is a method for removing gaussian blur from a photograph.
- Overall sharpening is a method for removing overall blurring from a photo.
