Getting organized

Zoner Photo Studio gives you control over your pictures. If you are like most people, you have collected more photos over the years than you know what to do with, and Zoner Photo Studio eliminates the frustration of having huge amounts of photos and not being able to find what you are looking for.

Metadata – info about your photos

Digital photos contain not just pictures, but also blocks of information describing those pictures. This information is called "metadata" and can include labels, descriptions, data associated with RAW and other formats, and even GPS coordinates. Zoner Photo Studio is exceptional at creating, storing and keeping track of the metadata associated with your photos.

Photo labels

A straightforward system for labeling photos is the basis for successfully managing your photos. Zoner Photo Studio makes it easy to add labels, names, dates and all sorts of information to photos - individually as well as in batches. Zoner Photo Studio offers several methods for labeling photos, so you can choose the one that's right for you.

Keeping track of your photos: searching and filters

Zoner Photo Studio makes it easy to find your photos. "Losing" a picture will be a thing of the past with the various search and filtering options available in Zoner Photo Studio.

Automatic sorting

The most common excuse given by people for not working with their pictures is that their photo archive is disorganized: "I'll get the pictures to you when I find some time to get them sorted!" Sadly, they keep putting it off, and the situation only gets worse. Zoner Photo Studio helps you get organized by automatically finding all photos and digital images on your computer and making them available to you.

The Catalog

Organizing large photo archives is a very difficult task. That's why Zoner Photo Studio includes a Catalog to help you handle large or poorly sorted photo collections. It virtually sorts photos by the year, month, and day they were taken, but with the photos physically still staying in their original folders. Since you can see all the photos from a given period in one place, it is easy to work with them together, no matter where they are on disk. The Catalog sorts photos based on their EXIF information. To ensure that the Catalog sees the files you want it to see, use Add Files to Catalog in the program preferences.

Archiving your photos

When your photos have reached the limit of your computer’s hard disk, Zoner Photo Studio will help you manage external media such as CDs, DVDs, and even removable hard drives. Now you’ll be able to keep track of all of your pictures.

File manager

Zoner Photo Studio can also be used as a convenient file manager. All standard file manager features are supported.

Your photos and GPS

Zoner Photo Studio supports GPS (Global Positioning System) data with your photos. Whether your camera has built-in GPS support, or you have an external GPS device, or you enter the GPS coordinates manually, you’ll be able to link your photos to Google Earth and other sources to show maps and aerial photos of where you took the shot.
