About Zoner
ZONER Software has been renowned for its graphics software since 1993.
In that year we introduced the bitmap editor Zebra for DOS 1.0, which won acclaim from the professionals. In 1994, we built on this success by releasing our Zebra for Windows 1.5 vector graphics editor, and it immediately became popular for its simple, well-organized controls. These two editors were so easy to use in fact that they were chosen as the tools for teaching the basics of computer graphics in many schools.
In 1996, ZONER Software released its powerful Zoner Callisto 2 vector-graphics editor. This version was not only "easy enough for children" but also so powerful that an airport began using Callisto's engine to control its runway-lighting system.
In 1998, we released Zoner Callisto version 3, which won several awards from IT magazines. It was cited for its excellent Internet graphics capabilities with the prestigious Finalist Best of Show award at CeBIT '98, the world's largest IT fair (700,000 visitors) in Hannover, Germany. Zoner Callisto 3 was later renamed Zoner Draw 3.
In April 2001, we released our best drawing application yet - Zoner Draw 4, an overall improvement on version 3. In January 2003, we released Zoner Media Explorer 5, designed to match the needs of digital photography.
In 2003, Zoner switched its focus to digital photography, with Zoner Media Explorer 5. Zoner renamed this series to Zoner Photo Studio with the release of Zoner Photo Studio 6 in June 2004.
In addition to graphics editors and tools for digital photography, ZONER Software produces the Zoner Clip Art collection of vector images, the animation program Zoner GIF Animator, and Zoner Barcode Studio.
