Supported Formats

Zoner Photo Studio lets you work with photos and other pictures in a variety of formats—you can browse them, view and edit them at full size, and save them. You can also use it as your default picture viewer within Windows. For example, if you associate the JPG format to Zoner Photo Studio, then double-clicking a JPG file will launch the Zoner Photo Studio Viewer (or Editor—which one depends on your settings).

RAW And Its Subformats

RAW is the most special group of bitmaps formats—though it is usually thought of a single format. RAW files contain data acquired directly from the sensors of professional and semi-professional digital cameras. For some RAW types, Zoner Photo Studio supports display of previews for them, including full-resolution previews in the Editor. However, this is not the same thing as the full-fledged conversion ("developing") available for most RAW types. But the most commonly used RAW formats are supported in full.

Certain other vector formats have partial support: you can view thumbnails for them in the Browser. These files cannot be opened in the Editor, but you can associate them with with their own corresponding editor or other program used to process them. Thumbnails are only shown for such files if a thumbnail for them was saved inside of them.

Multimedia and Animations

You can also use Zoner Photo Studio to browse thumbnails for animations and multimedia files (videos) in numerous formats:

• ASF, AVI, M1V, MOV, MPE, MPEG, MPG, QT, and WMV video files
• AIF, AIFF, AU, MID, MIDI, MP2, MP3, MPA, RMI, SND, WAV, and WMA sound files
